Pain of a lost lover

The days and nights are cold.
stagnant.

I’ve been crying,
Nothing can change what happened.

Where have you gone my love?
All dreams have turned into a nightmare.
I cannot accept that you are not here.

Whenever our son calls to me
The fear and chills creep
And I dread the questions he has for me.

The truth is his father is never coming back.
All I do is watch him pretend he is not hurting.
Or am I the one who pretends not to hurt..

Where have you gone my love?
Last night I dreamt of that day
When your life and love was taken away.
I woke up on your cold side of the bed.
I found myself screaming inside
In the middle of the night,
Even the walls whisper of my plight.
