Sanitised dreams
Peep through face masks
Unemployment screams,
Hunger begs and asks
Freedom to move denied
A new life defined
Burying ‘old system’ things
And the birth of a new normal gleams
Our bodies are cocktails of vaccines
Large gatherings abolished
Covid wards are still dying scenes
Agony-scarred faces still tear-polished
Jarring music of rising infection statistics
Death is the new notorious trend
Life is a lover so sadistic
Birthing the beginning of an end
Resetting to the new covid mood and style
A toast to the living and dead
Masking up pain-strained smiles
Better days lie ahead
