Cheer up beautiful, broken sister
A broken crayon still colours.
Love is not an achievement
Neither is marriage.
Cheer up, you who are depressed
Sadness is not your portion.
Dust off the shame;
Embrace the new dawn
Cheer up.
Warmth awaits you.
He knocks on the door.
Cheer up, you the bruised and abused
Break the silence and let inner peace reign.
Yes!
Submit to him not his abuse.
Cheer up, you whose womb never bore fruits.
It’s not your fault, children are a gift.
Does one ask for gifts?
No.
Walk away from oppressive beliefs.
Life has more to offer.
Cheer up, sister,
Educated and unemployed.
Do not give up on your dreams.
Cheer up.
There is always tomorrow.
