Heroine

Her dexterous fingers waxes floors
Her resilient head deftly balances firewood
She is a warm open door
Exuding comforting womanhood

An aura so nurturing
Moulding timid boys into fearless men
Ever present, ever willing, ever providing
Protective like a mother hen

She is a formidable spine
Of skeleton homes to never break
Her unconditional love is as ancient as time
Brimming with kindness that never lacks

Like nourishing dew in the morning;
Her selfless caregiving keeps the world growing
Instinctively knowing when to attend to a child’s calling
She is the definition of heroine.
