Where Has She Gone?

Where has she gone?
They will wonder
Like dirt, they treated me
To them I held no value
I became the monster they portrayed me as.
I killed myself along the way
I lost myself in the eyes of society
And like a puppet they played me on a string
It was from their eyes
That spoke a thousand different negatives to mine
As I passed by it felt as if
They could see through my clothes
A cold winter chill ran down my spine
My feet went cold and numb
But the significant in built confidence whispered in my ears
You are not a princess
You are not a queen
But I played these words in my head like a song on replay
You are an empress
And your subjects await you
Polish up that crown of yours.
And walk on that catwalk with pride
All who witnessed were star struck
Where has she gone, they wondered?
Where is the girl we toyed around with?
It will take them time to realize she is not gone….
But is now a woman
Capable of being in full control of her life
She is a survivor of society’s torments
She is victorious
Where has she gone?
Where has she gone?
She hasn’t gone anywhere
She has become a woman!
