You cannot dictate my mourning, no
you have no idea how I feel when I wake
up each morning. it is not like just cancelling
a flight, no. I cannot just cancel my sorrow
and decide to no longer cry.
this is a fallen hero of my heart
not a fallen braid from my head.
do not tell me to wipe my tears,
My tears are helping me to wipe my fears.
do not give me a card to swipe
money will not buy back my lost loved one.
no, do not say you understand how I feel.
even if you stand right in my shoes,
no, you cannot understand
all you can do is imagine
you can only empathize
and if you like, sympathize
no, stop the lectures you are giving.
let me mourn.
