In the heart of Zimbabwe’s dark secrets,
Three Zimbos gathered, minds on July fire,
Marechera’s Africa Unity Square essence, they sought to eat, meet, and drink. In Bohemian grooves, they’d never tire.
Their thoughts ablaze, like Shona dreams,
Ndebele whispers, surreal it seems,
Reality show of minds unleashed,
Discussing power, racism, belief. They’re disdained. It sounds dissident!
Amidst the cuddles and casual vowing moans,
A ‘conservative’ of Zimbos, free spirits endowed,
Marechera’s infinite rebel, they wished to be,
In his Bohemianism, wild and free.
Rural Maungwe echoes blend with Anglicised urban sighs,
Diaspora dreams, they harmonize,
They play with fire, embracing the storm, embracing rogue River watersheds.
In Bohemian tongues, they spin the tale, they lie, cheat, and explore.
A poetic dance, they never fail,
Challenging norms of the jewel, they seek to find,
New paths of thought, to unbind their submission and discipline.
Pretend-you-like-me, a masquerade, let’s be naughty!
In Marechera’s mind, worlds cascade,
Through rogue discussions, they traverse,
Views on life, they boldly become the White Sun’s rays.
The groover’s truth, like stars aligned and never lost,
In Marechera’s Bohemianism, they find,
A spark of hope, a fearless creed,
A journey wild, they’re bound to be tea-bagged.
So, let’s fleece this Bohemian flair,
With casual hearts, and minds laid bare,
In Marechera’s soulfulness, let us be girded,
And kill all our darlings in the conserved world with daring eyes.
In my warped mind’s eye, Marechera’s blaze,
Ndebele and Shona, their tongues amaze,
“Mthunzi wami,” echoes deep,
“My deep shadow,” a bond they forever keep.
“Mhlaba wonke,” the world entire,
In Marechera’s mind, they now aspire,
“Ndini ndaiti,” the rebel’s call,
“I am who l am,” breaking down the tribal wall in those guarded walls.
In Bohemian grooves, we’re all chained, down the garden path,
So we intertwine,
“Isigubhu seMoya,” the soul’s design,
“Mavambo enhle,” orgasmed paths untold,
Through Marechera’s dirty hippie chic, they now behold.
“Ngenzeni na?” they dare to ask,
“What shall I do?” a daunting task,
“Mureza wangu,” their ancestral thread,
In Marechera’s words, who shall liberate Zimbos?
The mindblast swirls, a tempest’s grace,
“Mbira dzevanhu,” ancestral harps,
‘Mhande inhemamusasa,’
Never delay kissing a real beauty; or rather tasting good whiskey.
Rebellion for conservative Zimbos!
“Moto unotora mureza wako,” they say,
“Fire takes your freedom seat,” they impose.
In Bohemian whispers, they confess twerking,
“Makorokoto,” for their progress,
“Tambai makashinga,” brave and strong erotic dances,
Riding the hot waves, where they should always belong.
In Marechera’s footsteps, they roam on every social media handle. Escorts, teaching chikapa,
There are no coaches in the social room that has no beds.
“Zviuya zvekunyora,” writing’s home where the love’s food.
Kwanzi kudyiwa zvinhu, the humans are tasty!
Feelings will come! Happy endings!
“Munhu haambozivi,” they embrace their ignorance,
“No one truly knows,” humanity doesn’t know nothing.
With courage bold, they journey far, their body don’t full.
Konji dey worry dem!
“Bira rengoma,” the drum’s memoir,
“Tora bota,” take the lead in sexual indulgencies,
In Marechera’s world, they plant the carefree seed.
Eroticised, they find hot porridge methods, “Chakanetsa chii,” it’s true,
“What’s difficult,” they will push through,
“Kuzvidira mukati,” amidst the breaking of the spine,
In Marechera’s fantasy, they frenemize.
